David Sherman, LPC
I help men understand themselves, heal from what’s holding them back, and create authentic lives, for themselves and those they love.
Men I work with
- Adult men
- Teens
- Couples
You deserve more than just getting through the day.
You’re carrying more than you show. Maybe you’re the guy who keeps it together at work, shows up for everyone else, but feels completely disconnected from yourself. You’re going through the motions; checking boxes, meeting expectations, but something’s missing. You might be avoiding hard conversations, numbing out with work or screens, or feeling like you’re failing at relationships even when you’re trying. Maybe your struggling with anxiety or depression. You know you “should” have it figured out by now, but the truth is: you’re exhausted from pretending you do.
Understanding yourself and making real change takes work, and you don’t have to do it alone.
Why I Work with Men
I came to men’s work because I kept seeing the same pattern: smart, capable guys who were taught that struggling meant weakness, that asking for help was failure. Men who were never permitted to feel their feelings or even know what those feelings were. That silence creates so much pain, for them, for their partners, for their kids. I work with men because you deserve a space where you can drop your armor, be honest about what’s really going on, and build a life that feels authentic rather than performative.
My Work as an LPC in Denver
Healing in my office looks like understanding your thoughts and emotions without being controlled by them, so you can make choices based on your values instead of your fears. It’s building self-compassion instead of self-judgment. It’s realizing you can be both imperfect and worthy. It’s showing up differently in your relationships because you’ve changed the relationship you have with yourself.
As an LPC in Denver (LPC.0018138), I work with teens, adults, and couples. I have years of experience helping clients living with PTSD, emotional regulation needs, anxiety, and depression. I am EMDR trained and have advanced training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and expressive arts therapies.
I also have years of experience supporting neurodivergent clients, because everyone’s brain works differently, and therapy should work for you.
About Me
I have almost a decade of experience working as a therapist after graduating from Lesley University in Cambridge, MA, where I specialized in humanistic and expressive arts therapy, combining my passions for mental health with arts and music. I’m proud to have worked as a clinical supervisor for other therapists, and I’m still passionate about this work after all these years.
I am passionate about my work as a survivor of trauma, a ADHD kid who was misunderstood, and a man trying to have a healthy relationship with myself and my family. I am proud of my experience and expertise but I show up for my clients with authenticity as a fellow imperfect human.
Outside of therapy, I’m a visual and musical artist. I spend a lot of time in my kitchen cooking for family and friends, there’s something grounding about making something with your hands and sharing it with people you care about. Music and art aren’t just hobbies for me; they’re how I process my emotions, the world, and stay connected to what matters.
I have two convenient office locations: near Cherry Creek and situated between the Capitol Hill and City Park West neighborhoods.
If you’re ready to do this work, let’s talk.
